Daniel Almada was born July 27, 1923 in Jerome, AZ. He was most proud of his heritage, his family, and his service to his country. He served as a member of the US Army, 82nd Airborne, and 505th PIR. He was wounded in Belgium during The Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Daniel met and married Carmen Rivera (deceased) in 1950. They had five children, Roxana Hauser (Alan), Rachel Dickey, Laura Montague, Daniel Jr. (Debbie), and Michael (Rebecca). The family continued to grow and included ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Daniel was an active member of Primera Iglesia Bautista Westside. He loved his church family and it was difficult for him during his illness when he could no longer attend regularly. Daniel was a lover of music and an amateur vocalist. He was known to serenade his family and friends. His family will never cease to miss him.

Oh How I miss him singing to us grandkids! He was a riot! I remember being little and grandma would turn up the music (mexican music) and they would dance around. We would giggle. After dinners he would do his jumping jacks, walk around the yard or basement...we would follow and taunt him lol.

Grandpa I just want you to know that I love you, I miss you and so very proud that you served our country! You have taught me a lot and I will never forget that! I love you very much.
Love ur little Toni D
